How to get involved

People come into your bank or credit union because they trust you with their money. Nurture that trust – and your own bottom line – by sharing the benefits of direct deposit with customers and members who receive federal benefit checks.

There are many easy ways to get involved in the Go Direct campaign and encourage direct deposit use:

• Coach your tellers to communicate the benefits of direct deposit, and then send brief monthly reminders prompting them to encourage customers or members to use direct deposit.
• Publicize your Go Direct involvement and activities on your Web site using a Go Direct Web banner, or in direct mailings or newsletters.
• Incorporate short messages about Go Direct in monthly statement inserts or other types of statement messages to customers, explaining how to enroll in direct deposit.
• Encourage tellers to promote Go Direct with an incentive.
• Display Go Direct marketing materials in your lobby, including deposit slip stickers, fliers, posters and teller tents. You can opt to order free Go Direct materials or co-brand and print your own materials.
• Use the online enrollment system and learn how with the Online Enrollment Guide.
• Incorporate Go Direct into financial literacy efforts.
