May is Older Americans Month and the U.S. Department of the Treasury’s Go Directcampaign wants senior citizens and their caregivers who get Social Security payments by paper check to knowabout the advantages of switching to electronic payments – it’s safer, easier and gives people more control over their money.
Your organization can help members of your community simplify their lives and improve their financial safety by encouraging them to switch from paper checks to direct deposit or the Direct Express® Debit MasterCard® card for federal benefit payments.
It’s easy to use the campaign’s materials to promote the use of electronic payments among senior citizens and caregivers who get Social Security and other federal benefits in your community. Materials are also available to help you share this important message with people with disabilities and their caregivers your organization serves.
