Countdown to Retirement tool kit

America's 77 million baby boomers are beginning to count down to retirement -- in fact, the oldest among them will be eligible to collect Social Security starting in January 2008. If current trends hold, however, too many will get their retirement benefits by paper check rather than direct deposit.

Go Direct's Countdown to Retirement initiative, which kicked off in January 2007, reaches out to boomers about the benefits of direct deposit -- even before they retire. Partners help spread the message by promoting a fun, yearlong pledge drive that asks pre-retirees (and current retirees too) to choose direct deposit for their Social Security benefits.

• Pledge Card -- Perfect for distributing at pre-retirement seminars, financial literacy workshops and other events. The card features a tear-away bookmark to serve as a reminder to choose direct deposit. A Spanish version of the pledge card is also available. 
• How to Use the Pledge Card -- Offers ideas on ways you can use the pledge cards. Also available in Spanish. 
• Online Pledge and Quiz -- An alternative to the paper pledge card that includes a quick quiz allowing boomers to see how their attitudes toward retirement compare with the national poll results (goes live in January 2007).
• Web banners -- Available in three sizes: 135x60, 225x85, and 380x85. These colorful illustrations go on your Web site and link to the online quiz and pledge on www.GoDirect.org. Learn how to add these Web banners to your Web site.
