The Countdown Has Begun!

Ringing in the New Year has special significance this year for people like former President Bill Clinton, Dolly Parton and Donald Trump. January 2007 marks the 12-month countdown to when the oldest of our nation’s 77 million baby boomers start hitting retirement age.

To highlight this milestone, Go Direct, a campaign of the U.S. Treasury, asked 1,000 Americans about their attitudes about finances as they head toward retirement. The national survey showed that while baby boomers tend to be more financially savvy than current retirees, a significant number have yet to start using direct deposit, even though it is safer and easier than paper checks.

To find out how your retirement mindset compares to the rest of the nation, take the short quiz below. While you’re at it, make a pledge to use direct deposit when you retire. It’s money you can count on – on time, every time.
